Here the tasks accomplished during meetings in Asunción (Paraguay) and Montevideo).
- Paraguay:
- 5th May:
- Jorge Alfonso Ramírez (Partner), Alex and me.
- Fiscal de delitos informáticos (Cybercrime Prosecutor),
Ariel, and his technical responsible, Ramiro.
- Almost 3 hours meeting with commercial presentation and demo based on already collected data. No infections performed because of lack of time and lack of Internet connection. In prevision of that, I left laptop, android and bb infected from my tests in Madrid and we were reviewing what was already connected.
- Client was really interested in correlation.
- 6th May
- Jorge Alfonso Ramírez (Partner), Alex and me.
- Ministerio de Defensa (Department of Defense): Minister (General), Vice Minister (Navy Contraalmirante) and Minister Secretary (Coronel).
- Same procedure as previous day regarding presentation and demo.
- Minister will report to President of Republic in order to request budget.
- As suggested by our partner we were making all the examples focusing on EPP, what is main target of government now. I really think we succeeded making interest on client regarding that, creating examples of how RCS can help on fighting that guerrilla.
- Verint is present in Paraguay trying to sell interception technology. Our advantage is that our platform is much more affordable.
- 6th May:
- Jorge Alfonso Ramírez (Partner), Alex and me.
- Fiscal General (General Prosecutor).
- Very shortly to avoid disturbing prosecutor because he received us in his desk thanks to the good words of cybercrime prosecutor we met previous day.
- With short explanation and examples as those given to Minister regarding EPP but including also more examples we got his interest.
- There was no time for demo so just showing him demo console. His interest was growing little by little from the start to the end of the meeting.
- Uruguay:
- 9th May:
- Pablino and Fernando (partners) and me.
- Intelligence Services Coordinator from Presidential Office: Air Force General Bonilla, Coronel González and Capitán de Navio Menini.
- After introduction from parner, commercial power point. Then demo time. as in previous cases, I used already infected devices and client was really satisfied. As in previous demonstrations, I made focus on Correlation and amount of data kinds. Using same examples as for EPP in Paraguay I told examples and ideas without providing an specific target this time (there is no FARC, Sendero Luminoso or EPP in Uruguay).
- After the meeting, that client enjoyed, our partners told
me they are going to push the right hand of President, a man
from army that has a lot of influence on President as his
assistant.
- 9th May:
- Pablino and Fernando (partners) and me.
- Director of Policía Nacional supported by Director Assistant, 2 guys from intelligence and a guy from drugs.
- Following procedure of previous meetings, I introduced HT and RCS with presentation and then changed to console to show data collection, usage, configuration and so on. I was pressing them on doing questions and making usage examples. Director was really satisfied and looking every now and then to drugs guy looking for his interest until he couldn´t wait and told RCS is great by voice.
- He had to go, but other four stayed and asked questions. They liked it.
As far as I understand, nobody of met people both in Paraguay and Uruguay knows about other hacking products, what is an advantage for us.
As explained, I did not performed infections in front of the clients because of two reasons: having devices infected, was easier to start presenting gathered data, target profile, and so on. And second, because there was no technical people in meetings. Then, making those guys look an infection was making them make time to think on other things.
Tomorrow I will depart to Santiago.
